Checking Sound Settings (Voice and Speaker/Headphones)

This article will help you troubleshoot common sound issues by showing you how to change your sound settings for Teams, Wildix, and Windows. You don't need to adjust all three, only the ones you need it for. In these examples, an MPOW BH323A headset will used.

Sound settings on Microsoft Teams.

  1. Go to the Settings by click the your profile picture on the top right
  2. Go to Voice on the left
  3. Make the appropriate adjustments under Audio devices. In this case, I do not want to use PC Mic and Speakers, instead, I want to use the Mpow 323 as both the Speakers and the Microphone.

Make a test call to verify that it works.

Sound settings on Wildix Collaboration.

  1. Go to the Settings on the right
  2. Go to Web Phone.
  3. Like the settings above, change the devices for Speaker, Ringing (for when you get a call), and Microphone.

Note: If you see blank devices (no options showing) on Wilidix, you will need to follow these instructions here.

If the microphone is set properly, you will see a green bar move left and right under the webcam preview.

Checking default sound settings on Windows.

  1. Right-click the sound icon on the bottom right and click on Open Sound settings.
  2. Click on Sound Control Panel (you may need to scroll down or it will be on the right).
  3. Under the Playback tab, right-click your device and click both: Set as Device Default and Set as Default Communication Device. Afterwards you should see a green check mark on that device.
  4. Do the same in the Recording tab for the Microphone.
  5. This will change the default device for any application using Speaker/Headphones and Microphone.
